Windows 10: File System error (-1073741819) Windows 10

Hello,

I just recently downloaded Windows 10 since I got it for free for having Windows 7. I just entered a new college and I got Microsoft 265 for free, so I tried to download it. The problem is, whenever I try tu run the setup I get a message saying File System error (-1073741819). I read on the windows 8 forums and a solution was to run the cdm as administrator, but when I tried to do that in the new Windows, the same error message appears. Any idea how can I fix it?

PS: I don't know if this is the right forum to put this question in, and if I'm in the wrong one I'm sorry.

File system error (-805306367)

Hello I've once had a similar File system error in Windows 10 after upgrade.

But this seems a different error code.

I had File System Error (-1073741819)

As said the Real Culprit is the Sound Scheme So to solve the issue we will be Changing few things in Sound Settings.

Step 1: Click On Start and Search for "Sound", Click on the Result that shows Sound Control Panel.

Step 2: Next, Sound window will pop up, Click on "Sound" tab and Change Sound Scheme to Windows Default Just like shown in Below Picture, Click OK.

Step 3: Now Check if you are still getting Error 1073741819 or not. Most of the time it Should be solved.

Alternate Method to fix Error (-1073741819)

You can also Right Click on Desktop, Click on Personalize.

Next on Personalization Settings, Click On Themes.

Then Click on Theme Settings.

Choose Windows 10 Theme.

 

Change the windows sounds settings to the windows default sounds.

You can do this by using the start menu to search for "Sound" then clicking the control panel sound option.

Then go to the "Sounds" tab and make your sound scheme either "No Sounds" or "Windows Default". Enjoy *Smile
