Windows 10: File system error 2147219196 Microsoft Pictures not being able to launch

Hello!

Today, i cant start up the photo app, i can see in the Microsoft store that it was updated yesterday.

When i try to open a picture i get an error saying, File system error (-2147219196)

I started with trying to repair the Photo app thru Setting -> Apps & Features -> Microsoft Photos -> Advanced Options and tried Repairing, check mark, still didnt work, then i resetted it, check mark, still didnt work. Then i uninstalled the app, and re installed it, still didnt work.

I have tried opening cmd in administrator mode, entering the command sfc/scannow 100% completed with no corrupted files. Restarted the pc, tried opening up a picture, didnt work.

I opened cmd in admin mode again, entered the command DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth with no corruption detected. I then did DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth, with completed succesfully.

The next step was to try a repair upgrade, i downloaded the Media creation tool, and tried launching it, wanted to upgrade this PC now, and i get stopped at the next step with the message. " This tool cant update your PC, The language or edition of the version of Windows currently installed on your PC inst supported by this tool.

Then, i tried reseaching a bit more online, and found out that many had the same problem as me, starting just after this update.
So now i gave up, in hope a new answer could thrill me, or that Microsoft release a bugfix or something.

Im running

Windows 10 Pro 64x

Version 1803

Build 17134.167


With all updates in the Microsoft store and Windows update, up to date.

When I try to open pictures, I get this error

File System error (-2147219196)

Also Calculator will not open

 

Can't open Pictures or Video files after update - file system error (-2147219196)

Exact same issue here after update this weekend.

All of my pictures have file system error 2147219196 no matter what program I choose to open, default or otherwise.

• Is the issue happening on apps only or is it also happening with programs installed on your computer?

No apps, this is a desktop PC. Pictures include new ones taken today and legacy ones going back decades.

• Have you tested if is this also happening on other user profiles?

Only one profile on my PC, the Admin one

• Are the files that you tried to open launch on other devices such as a different laptop or a mobile device?

Yes open fine on mobile phone. Also these opened for me on this machine perfectly before this last update.

Trying sfc /scannow as a fix... did not fix. Awaiting help please.

 

File System Error (-2147219196) - Can't open photos and calculator.

I can't open any of my photos nor can I open my calculator. The message I receive is "File System Error (-2147219196)"
