Windows 10: File type assigned by Paint 3d

Discus and support File type assigned by Paint 3d in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; I am using Windows 11 and have many images on my computer which have been edited using paint 3d.     I am using Windows 11 and have many images on my computer which have been edited using paint 3d. All of these files are of file type "Paint 3d .jpg" rather than just ".jpg".Recently I have tried searching for duplicate copies of these files on my computer but whilst the searching software will locate all duplicates of type .jpg it will not locate files of type "Paint 3d .jpg.It would be a great help if there was simple way to alter the file type to the standard .jpg variety.Please adviseRegards Norman

    Hi,

    To better assist you, we'd like to know some information:

    • What is the Windows build and version of your computer?
    • Can you send us a picture or list of available file types in Paint 3D?
    • We're you able to import an .stl file in Paint 3D before?

    Where is the Paint 3D Executable?

    Hi Don

    Paint 3D is a modern app, which doesn't use executables like older classic applications.

    If you want to associate file formats with Paint 3D as the default, you have to do the following.

    Point a JPEG file

    Right click it

    Click Properties

    Click the General tab

    Click Change

    Choose Paint 3D in the list

    Click OK

    Click Apply then OK

    Repeat the same step for a BMP file.

    or

    Click Start > Settings > Apps > Default apps

    Scroll to the bottom

    Click Choose default apps by file type

    Scroll down to JPEG and Bitmap

    Click on the current associated application then choose Paint 3D from the list.
