  1. File webio.dll is missing from my Windows 11 image. How do I proceed?

I am running Windows 11 on a Dell G5 5505, which has worked nominally since 2020. Three days ago, I attempted to run Dell Update to check for any updates for my drivers or BIOS, but Dell Update claimed it couldn't connect to it's system. I then tried to run Windows Update, but even though there is a pending update, whenever I click on it to download and install, it fails, returning error code 0x8007007f. My internet connection is working as expected.I have run sfc /scannow as an administrator, as well as Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth. Th

dll file not found after Creator's Update, Code Execution Cannot Proceed

    Hi Aberfoyle,

    It is possible that the
.dll file was corrupted during the update causing the error to occur.
To better assist you, kindly find the
    .dll file
    in
c:\Windows\System32. If you can find the
.dll file, it means that we need to
    register
    your
    .dll file
    to your
    Operating System
    for it to
work. To do this, we need to
    unregister
    the
    .dll file
    first and
    re-register
it. Here are the steps on how to do so:

    To unregister the .dll file:

    • Press
      Windows key + R, type
      Regsvr32 /u c:\Windows\System32\VCRUNTIME140.dll
      and hit
      Enter/OK.

    To re-register the .dll file:

    • Press
      Windows key + R, type
      Regsvr32 c:\Windows\System32\VCRUNTIME140.dll
      and hit
      Enter/OK.

    If you cannot find the
    .dll
    file in
    c:\Windows\System32,
kindly run these methods of troubleshooting
so that we will know if the issue is within/not within the
    Operating System:

    Method 1:
    Run SFC Scan.

    SFC
    will
    scan
    and
    run
    an
    automatic repair
    to any
    corrupted system files
that it will detect. We suggest that you perform it twice. To run an
    SFC scan, follow these steps:

    • Run
      Command Prompt as Administrator.

    • Type
      sfc /scannow
      and hit
      Enter.

    Note:
    Kindly run
    SFC twice or thrice
and check for results before you proceed to the next method.

    Method 2: Clean Boot.

    Clean Boot
    will
    stop or disable
    the
    applications
    that are running in your
    computer's background.
    To perform a
    Clean Boot, click
    here.

    Note:
    Reset the computer back to
    Normal Mode
once you are done with the troubleshooting by following the section
"How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting"
    from the same article.

    After performing these
    methods of troubleshooting
and still the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    computer/laptop manufacturer
    for further assistance.

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.

  3. Missing file mfc100.dll, running windows 11

    Hi tbishop56,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

It sounds like you got a pop-up window prompting file missing during STI software package installation. There are many reasons for missing mfc100.dll file: Delete the file accidentally or mistakenly, Malware/virus attack, Registry problem, Hardware failures.

Let's take the following steps to troubleshoot:

    • Restore from a system restore point. (This is the case if you previously created a restore point while the system was working properly.)

    • Copy the Msvcr100.dll File from Another Computer
    1. Type cmd in the search box, and then right-click the Command Prompt in the result and select Run as administrator.

    2. In the pop-up window, type the control /name microsoft.system command and hit Enter to open the system information window.

    3. Then check if the Windows edition and system type of your friend is the same as yours. If not, you should find another suitable computer.
    4. Press the win + E keys to open File Explorer, and then navigate to the path: C:\Windows\System32or C:\Windows\SysWOW64 where you should find the msvcr100.dll file. Now, save it to a USB flash drive or external hard drive.

    5. Copy the file from the USB drive and paste it to the same root directory as your own computer.

    1. You need to know the system type (32-bit or 64-bit) of your computer. Here you can get it by running the control /name microsoft.system command mentioned above.
    2. After downloading the package, follow the on-screen instruction to complete the installation on your computer.
Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.
