Windows 10: FILES CORRUPTED BY WINDOWS 10 OCTOBER 2018 UDATE

Ever since i upgraded to W/10 ,each time there are updates , i cannot get back into the system after restart , it claims " WINDOWS EXPLORER NOT RESPONDING" & " PERSONALIZED SETTINGS NOT FOUND "BUT after a couple of hours sometimes longer it starts working again . WHAT'S STRANGE , AFTER RESTART MY SIGN IN PAGE DISPLAYS WITH MY NAME AND PHOTO ,BUT AFTER I SIGN IN I GET A BLACK SCREEN WITH THOSE TWO RESPONSES- THIS OCCURS only after updates by WINDOWS.


BUT yesterdays update , my hard drive's main files some how became corrupted and after 8 hours of trying everything to get back in ,and nothing worked I couldn't -REBOOT ,RESTORE OR RELAX ! So even though i hated it , i had to use " RECOVERY " AND NOW my system is back to WINDOWS 8.1 and i cannot find how to download WINDOWS 10 , it wants me to buy it again , i bought it once already . so my question is : HOW DO I REINSTALL WINDOWS 10 AFTER RECOVERY ????????


P.S. I have the product key number from purchase last OCTOBER

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

I hope the above steps will help you repair the corrupted RAR archive.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Hi,

If you have click Checked for updates once, it would continue to download.

Try updating to Windows 10 October update version 1809, manually.

The fastest way to get the upgrade is through Media creation tool or ISO file.
