    Files, favorites, saved desktop, saved Word docs, downloads all gone after rebooting...


    Earlier today after my usual check of email, FB etc, , I attempted to put the laptop to sleep but the curser froze. After ten minutes of waiting for something to work, I shut the laptop down by pushing the power button. Upon restart hours later I find that my entire saved Word documents, saved desktop, saved downloads, saved favorites are gone. The look of the startup is different too so I suspect a Windows update wiped out my files and I want them back. Please note no profanity used here so far. I think I'm saving that for a direct link to Microsoft.

    I HAVE A GOOGLE DOCS FILE AND WOULD LIKE TO SAVE IT INTO MY DESKTOP OF WORD DOCUMENTS. HOW TO SAVE? THERE IS NO SAVE AS COMMAND?

    Saving Favorites

    I'm using Edge with Windows 10. Whenever I try to add a website to my Favorites List or Favorites Bar, I'm given the option of naming the favorite and saving it to either the list or the bar, but nothing actually gets saved. I get no error at the time
    of saving. I have no option to "Create In" which someone on this forum suggested. The only option is to Save, but the short cut is never saved in my Favorites folder. My folder is set up under Users\Owner\Favorites. Is it possible these are being saved
    somewhere else?
