    Files gone after I undo moving it to the new folder at the same desktop


    Hi there, I create a new folder the new folder at desktop, and at the same desktop I already have another folder, I drag and drop the files to the new folder and I undo it, the folder is gone but the files were not back to original folder. Where can I find those files? Thank you in advance for your advice

    Files gone after cut/paste then undo (control+z)

    I seem to have lost my files after doing the following steps. Is there a way for me to find the files?

    • I created a new folder in "Pictures" called "MomsPhone" C:\Users\willj\Pictures\MomsPhone
    • I selected the picture files from the android phone's DCIM folder, right clicked and chose "Cut"
    • Right clicked in the "MomsPhone" folder and chose "Paste"
    • In the "Pictures" directory, pressed control+z (undo)
    After the above the "MomsPhone" directory is gone, the only folder in "Pictures" that was created today is "New folder" which is empty. The files from the original device (pictures from android phone's DCIM folder) are also gone (result of the cut/paste)

    Edit: I use a Windows 10 HP with a Samsung SSD

    Folder names changed after folder move

    I have windows 10. I am working with pictures. I created a new file folder and moved about 30 other folders under the new folder. The 30 folders all had names I had created. After the move, all those folder name are gone and just the date of each file
    folder is there. I tried undoing, and it didn't bring back my folder names. Any suggestions? I have moved folders many times in the past, and this has never happened.

    Desktop files are gone

    Ok, so I really need help with this one, massively. My computer updated to the newer version of Windows 10 without me asking. I noticed all my folders were gone from the desktop. I managed to find them in my desktop folder, (which had my old desktop items
    but not my new ones), and moved them to my new desktop, but realised that my apps were having major issues, so I pressed start and did a reset. After it turned back on, it reverted to my previous desktop and it had most of my original files. But i realised
    that the files I had moved onto the updated desktop are now gone and there are no previous versions to get. lost 3 months worth of stuff, because it updated without me asking and then reverted for no reason. Update has broken my folders and I lost a lot.

    If anyone knows how to get desktop files from a newer version back to the older desktop, let me know, cause I don't want to install everything again, because the computer decides when it wants to listen or not.

    Short Version: Updated to new windows 10 version. New desktop. Moved files from old desktop to new desktop. Turned computer off, came back hour later. Turned it on and it was my old desktop. my files that I moved to the new desktop were gone. Can't access
    the new desktop. Moved files are still pinned but are gone
