Windows 10: Files not showing up in File Explorer but show up if I select sort by Date Modified

The strangest thing just started happening on my computer in the last couple of days. I regularly do scans into my computer as well as saving documents and images from newspaper websites, etc. Just yesterday, I started noticing that after I completed the saves/scans, the files do not show up in File Explorer in the directory in which I save them even though I know they are there, but they do show up when I change the sort from Name to Date Modified! Other software I have can't seem to find the files either even though if I try to save them a second time it says the file already exists! Very

Sort files AND folders by "Date Modified" in File Explorer

Hello,

Is there a way to sort folders and individual files by "Date Modified" together? Right now, when I sort by "Date Modified," folders are automatically put at the bottom below files, even if they have been modified more recently than a file. When I'm quickly
scanning a list, this is very distracting. How can I fix this?

If Date Modified doesn't show on the options when you choose Sort by, we suggest that you perform this steps:

• In File Explorer, select the folder you want to have changes with.
• Right-click and select Sort by.
• Select More, then check if the Date modified option has a check mark.
• Click OK, then try to perform again the steps provided by Acelyn Alc.

File Explorer Date Created and Modified not always correct

• Which build and version of Windows 10 do you have?
• In File Explorer, what does it indicate in the Date column? Does it show Date Modified or Date Created? (right click the Date Modified section at the top, which are the ones that has a checkmark?)
