Windows 10: Files on my computer from before it was made?

I have a lenovo thinkpad and am running windows 10 if that matters.

I was going through my computer's files and in the C drive I found 9 txt files named "eula.1028.txt" (or another 4 digit number) and they all have the same thing, the terms and agreement for Visual Studio 9.0 beta (i have no clue what this is).

I also found "install.exe" "install.ini" and 9 files named "install.res.1028.dll" with those 4 digit numbers matching up to the ones in the txt files. I know what an exe does and I dont want to open it just in case. I don't know what .ini and .dll are. I also found "VC_RED.cab" "VC_RED.MSI" "vcredist.bmp"

I have no idea what any of these files are, but my computer is 3-4 years old, and all of these files were last modified 7:00AM 11/7/2007, around 10 years before my computer was made.

I'm not super tech savvy, but does anyone know what this means or what these files are? Should I delete them? Any help would be appreciated. I posted this in r/Windows too

transfer files between computers on a home network

I don't know why this is so hard to do but I would like to transfer files between a desktop PC running windows 10 pro and a laptop running windows 10 home. I would like to transfer files in both directions. Both computers are on the same home network and are connected wirelessly.

Could some one provide either specific step by step instructions on how to do this (I googled and found a countless list of instructions that don't work)

or a link to a reference.

I don't know if this is possible but it would be nice to see the computer sending the desired file in the explorer file manager of the computer receiving the desired file and then under the computer see a list
of shared files and folders.

Again, this seems like such a reasonable way of sharing files and folders. Shouldn't there be a simple way to do this?

 

Extracting Zip Files

Thanks pyramid10 for your contribution, I ensured that the steps taken and the source and destination folders were the same, in the using zip7 as suggested by BunnyJ resolved all issues for me.
I am the first to admit that I am a long long way from understanding the intricacies of computers and if truth be told I am now to old anyway to absorb much information.

I would suggest you to follow the steps below:

  Press Windows key + X.

  Click file explorer from the list.
  
• 
  Select the CD/DVD drive and hit Enter.
  
• 
  Select the files you want to copy from the CD/DVD, then select the drive where you want to paste or save.
