  1. Files on SSD used for new computer not showing up

I recently built a new computer. I used an M.2 drive as my boot drive, which is working perfectly. I also bought a 1TB SSD to use to transfer photos, music, etc. from the old dying hard drive in my old computer to the new computer, and thenceforth use as D: on the new computer. My first move for full disclosure was to use Windows Backup to do this, plugging in the SSD as an "external" using a USB to SATA cable. This worked, but I did not like how every file was timestamped in the file name. So I reformatted it using the old computer and copied files manually. The new computer still saw it

SSD storage keeps filling up on its own

    Hi Ash,

There's a possibility that the files are just hidden. As an initial troubleshooting, we suggest following the steps below on how to display hidden files that's eating space of your SSD:

    • On the Search bar, type folder, and then select
Show hidden files and folders from the search results.
    • Under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives,
      and then select OK.

Keep us in the loop with the result.

New PC with Windows 10 - SSD shows as half full

The computer is new (as stated in the thread) with 500gb SSD. It is what I purchased and what is displayed both on the box and in the total space displayed in Windows.

Out of it, around 200 is taken, but all the available files take only 30gb.

    Steps I’ve taken so far:

    - checked the hybernate files and page files (not the culprits)

    - checked the storage usage with third party tool: showed only 30mb of used storage

    - checked disk manager: shows that partition C is using 200gb of space

Nothing shows why or how that space is “taken”.

Help! Data partition not showing under my computer

This is happening on a windows 2000 server. Our second partition of the system, for data is not showing under my computer. Here are the properties of it in disk management:

Now under logical drives its listed as F and shows free space available.

Suggestions on how to fix this?
