Files relocated after user login crash

So, I've had this computer running on this god-forsaken aberration called Windows 10 since 2018 and despite all the bugs, I've never seen something like this before. Today, when I tried to log into my user account, I noticed it was taking quite a lot of time to load and after a while I was greeted with a quite scary message along the lines of Windows being unable to login into it. I managed to get into the user in the second try, but then it was like my computer was brand new --it had the default wallpaper, my shortcuts had disappeared and so did the settings for my browser. The usual folders

Windows 10 - Relocate the Users folder Part 2 -Creating Account Issue

I decided to leave your suggestion as a last resort (before re-installation). I have my AppData folder ~ 15 GB and also my user profile is placed on the bad sectors of the drive. It took me about 5 mins to login into my desktop with a lot of disk grinding. Anyway, I tried Clonezilla in a "rescue" mode (becasue of unreadable sectors) to clone my drive. I replaced the drive with the clone and It somehow worked quite well. I am able to login and within 2 secs I get usable desktop; even Cortana suddenly came alive again and my menu shows up full. I may still have to fix some minor glitches in my profile or AppData. But everything works well and my user accounts and Program Files (that allow themselves to be installed in any locations) sit happily on the second drive.
    Thank you Kari

    User File Relocation

My Windows 8.1 PC was built using the
    System Preparation Tool
(sysprep) to run an XML-script (so called Answer file) which modifies the Windows registry and settings
to relocate Users folders to another drive “E”.
Program Files, Program Files (x86) and
Windows folders are all on the “C” drive.

I am aware that there are limitations i.e. “Repair Install” cannot be carried out with this type of installation. My question is will I be able to upgrade to Windows 10 with my type of installation?

Also is there a simple option to relocate user file to another drive other than the default “C” drive?

Relocating user folders in Windows 7 & Windows 10

    According to:

Using ProfilesDirectory to point to a directory that is not the system volume will block SKU upgrades
and upgrades to future versions of Windows.

But that support.microsoft.com article only warns against relocating C:\Users itself. It does not mention relocating C:\Users\YourUserName, so that would appear to be OK. But your article -suggests- that C:\Users\YourUserName should not be relocated either.
I wish someone would be abolutely clear: Windows does not recommend relocating either C:\Users or C:\Users\YourUserName--or what? But I cannot find it.
