  1. Files that I have deleted keep reappearing on my desktop screen?

So this problem has occurred three times over the past few weeks or so and basically all the files that I deleted reappear on my desktop. This started to happen when I did the windows 10 quality update thingy so possibly this issue has to do with that? Anyways I tried restarting my laptop/tablet (I use a surface pro 6) the first time it happened bc I thought it was just a little error. But now that it happened twice more, I'm getting a bit concerned. I deleted my files by moving them to the recycling bin and permanently deleting it by emptying the recycle bin. It's not a big problem if there's only a few files since I can just delete it again. But for me atm, absurd amounts of large .zip files and folders pictures etc that I deleted are appearing randomly and practically gives me an urge to smash my surface every time it happens. If someone has the same issue or knows a solution please lmk!

  2. Reappearing files I deleted

    Hi Aleander,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

We understand how you feel about the situation. We're sorry for the trouble.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to delete the folder and check if it's reappear.

      • Open the Command prompt with admin (Windows +x and select Command prompt).

      • In the command prompt, type the command below and press enter.

        NOTE: Substitute
Full Path of Folder within quotes below with your folder's full path within quotes instead.

RD /S /Q "Full Path of Folder".

      • The folder should now be deleted.

      • Close the command prompt.
Please reply to us with the status of the issue and check if it helps.

    Thanks.

  4. Files that I have deleted keep reappearing on my desktop screen?

Icons reappear after deleted from Desktop

When I (create a file on the desktop or save-to the desktop) then later decide to delete that file a ghost icon of that file will reappear after opening a full screen program or signing-out. The work-a-round is easy enough: Just right click and refresh the
screen and the ghost icon disappears. Scaling on W10 for me has been 125% for five years with no similar glitch as this. Someone got a cure? A regedit maybe? Please, not driver or firmware update suggestions, I have already tried those fixes. Files that I have deleted keep reappearing on my desktop screen? :)

This is happening with W10 v2004 build: 19041.508

Hopefully this will be addressed in a WU soon.
