Windows 10: files that is videos photos documents etc wont open when transferred from an external...

I bought an external SSD 16T transferred videos photos documents from an external HDD 4T wont open they are not copied well?this message is shown for the videos This file isn't playable. That might be because the file type is unsupported, the file extension is incorrect, or the file is corrupt. note the videos are mp4and for the photosit looks like we do not support this file format note the photo are jpeg or gifsome files are not shown at all like they are not transferredhint the SSD 16 TB is Chinese may be this is the real causei formatted it 3 times file using system NTFS

Transferring photos from laptop to external harddrive

It is best to do this manually, rather than through the Photos App . .

Connect your External Hard Drive

Open Windows File Explorer

On the left, click Pictures yo open your Pictures library folder

Then, on the right select the photos or folders of photos you want to transfer

Right click those and choose 'Send To' - your external hard drive should be bottom of the 'Send To' list

That will transfer those files to your external drive . ..

 

Transferring photos to a USB drive/external drive

Right click one of those photos in your Documents folder, then choose Send To' - your USB drive should be bottom of that list

Does that file transfer to the external drive successfully?

If not, what is the exact error you see?

Connect that external drive

Open File Explorer, on the left, choose your Pictures Library

On the right hand side, select the folders of photos you want to transfer, right click those and choose Send To - your external drive should be bottom of that Send To list

Then, you would need to delete those photos from your PC to stop those being synced to OneDrive . . .
