Windows 10: Files will not load when startup completes.

I have a dell inspiration 15 3000 series. When I startup my computer everything goes normal and computer starts as normal. When the screen to choose a profile pops up no profile appears, meaning I cannot choose a user or guest profile to use my computer. I tried the Ctrl+Alt+delete shortcut but that does not work. I tried to reset my laptop but it says there is a problem and will not restart. It reaches 37% and then says "undoing changes" I tried to reboot but it wont let me do that either. I tried the automatic repair but it will not follow through. It gives me an er

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Cannot launch Settings on startup menu

Thank you for posting your reply.

I suggest you to perform a Startup Repair by following the steps below.

• In the Lock screen, press/hold the shift key and click on power icon>restart.
• Click on Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Repair and follow the prompts to start the Startup Repair.

After the Startup Repair is complete, check for the status.
