Windows 10: Film won't play in Microsoft Tv and movies

I purchased Volver to watch. When I click on 'watch' nothing happens, a player flashes up then disappears. If I click on 'open TV and films' the same thing happens. I have tried clearing the cache and I have cookies enabled.

Refresh movies in Films & Tv

When I download/add movies or films to the Videos folder on my computer then try to play them later using Films & TV app, it takes up to 15 minutes for the Films & TV app to refresh it's library. Is there a shortcut where I can manually refresh the Films
library?

 

Microsoft Films & TV Not Playing Purchased Content

I've started using Microsoft Films & TV, but I'm not having much luck - When I try to play a purchased movie, the player starts up, but just buffers with the title of the movie in the bottom left corner. After a few minutes of loading, the buffer symbol
stops and the app freezes. It worked fine for the first 24 hours or so.

I've tried multiple suggested solutions already:

• Resetting the app in Settings.
• Uninstalling the app using Windows Powershell.
• Restarting the computer.
• Wifi off and on (both PC side and at the router).

Purchases play fine on my Xbox One S, so I can assume the problem is a local one.

Does anyone know what might be wrong? Any help greatly appreciated!

 

Problem with the windows app "Films and TV"

Hello,

I am running win 10 SL home edition (ver. 1511). My default windows app for playing any movies is "Films and TV" but we all know that at present there is no such app like "Films and TV". It should be "Movies and TV". I tried updating it from Microsoft
store but there the name was "Movies and TV" but when I open it it shows the name of "Films and TV". So
I want to change my default windows app for playing movies from "Films and TV" to "Movies And TV".
