  1. Filter keys option in effect when turned off

The filter keys option in my windows settings is turned off but its still in effect as i cannot hold down a key and have them repeat or when i hold backspace it deletes my typed text 1 for 1 very slowly. Ive already tried deleting my keyboard and re-adding it in time and language settings, restarts and deleting the drivers but to no avail.

    :)

    Filter Keys

    Hi,

Filter Keys are part of the Ease of Access features in Windows 10 that can help users control the keypress repeat rate and ignore the repeated keys. This setting can be disabled by following these steps:

    • Click Start.
    • Type Control Panel and press Enter.
    • Click Ease of Access.
    • Click Change how your keyboard works.
    • Click Set up Filter Keys.
    • Uncheck Turn on Filter Keys when right SHIFT is pressed for 8 seconds.
    • Uncheck Turn on Filter Keys.
    • Click Apply.
    • Click OK.
    • Restart your computer.

Let us know if you were able to turn Filter Keys off after following these steps.

  3. Filter keys are turning on even though that option is deselected in the Control Panel

    Hi!

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for sharing your concern with us today.

Your problem is that Filter keys are turning on even though that option is deselected in the Control Panel.

We suggest that you could try to add the keyboard layout again see if it feasible.

    Here are steps:

    1. Click "Start>Settings>Time and Language>Language".

    2. Under the "Preferred Language" section, select the current default language.

    3. Click the "Options" button.

    4. Under the "Keyboard" section, select the keyboard from the list.

    5. Click the "Delete" button.

    6. Under the "Keyboard" section, click the "Add keyboard" button.

    7. Choose a new keyboard layout.

Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.
