Windows 10: Find in page window refuses to close

The Find in page window ctrl + f refuses to close in all browsers including edge. I discovered this was happening while using Opera GX however it happens in every browser I’ve tried leading me to believe it’s a windows 11 issue. Pressing the X button next to the window doesn’t work neither does pressing Esc or ctrl + f. This wasn’t happening before the most recent update for Win 11. Is anyone else having this issue ? Any input is appreciated.

To be able to understand the issue better, we need more clarity on the issue you are facing. Let us know a few more details on the below questions.

• Is it an abrupt issue? Did you make any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
• Did you check if similar issues occur when you log in to Windows using a different user account?
• Do you have any System Restore point set in Windows prior to the issue?

As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to check for the latest updates in Windows 10 which helps the PC to make optimal use of Windows 10 capabilities as well as fixing any missing links in performance of the operating system.

To check for updates now, go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select
Check for updates. If Windows Update says that your PC is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

Now, please follow the below suggested methods and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Method 1

This issue may happen due to system file corruption. I suggest you to run System file checker. System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Kindly follow
the below given steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X, select
  Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.
  
• 
  In Command prompt type
  sfc /scannow and press enter.
  
• 
  Restart the computer.

Method 2

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state or were irrecoverable, then I suggest you to try the following steps to deploy the DISM command lines:

• 
  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Click command prompt (Run as administrator).
  
• 
  In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press Enter key after each command:
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
  
  DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  
  To close the Administrator: Command prompt window, type Exit, and then press Enter.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

• Did you minimize the tabs before opening the current page/window?
• Does the issue occur even when the tabs are not minimized and you try to get to the previously browsed page/window?

I suggest you to check if the issue persists when trying to switch from currently browsing page/window to the previously browsed page/window is not minimized. To do so follow the steps below:

• Open a web page/app window on the desktop and open another program on the page while retaining the previously opened page in the background.
• Minimize the current page you are at and check if the previously opened web page/app window is accessible. You can also press
  Alt + Tab keys on the keyboard and check if you are able to access the previously accessed web page/app window.
