Windows 10: "Find My Device" Is Finding My Device In Several Places Around Town That It's Never Been To...

After using Google's excellent "Find My Device" option which even told me the elevation of my phone's location in an apartment four stories high, I decided to turn on all the necessary features for Microsoft's version. Followed all instructions to the letter - as a matter of fact, I was kind of annoyed to find out that several settings that I had never looked at were already allowing my location to be available to third-party apps in many ways I had never approved. But hey, that's Microsoft. I've known this since 1995. Anyway, I turned everything on as instructed, and then started clicking o

I have seen in above mentioned place but my device is not listed and giving suggestion to add new device.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

1. Is that a USB 2.0 cable or the 3.0 cable which comes with the gaming device?
   
2. Have you plugged in the USB cable to the appropriate port?
   

However, you may want to try these steps one by one and check if that makes any difference.

Step1: Plug in the USB cable to a different and correct USB port and check the status.

Step 2: I suggest you to run hardware and devices troubleshooter and check if that helps.

1. Press the Windows + X, and click on Search.
   
2. Type troubleshooting and select Troubleshooting.
   
3. Click on Hardware and Sound and select Hardware and Devices and click on Next to run the troubleshooter.
   

Step 3: Remove and reinstall all USB controllers.

1. Open Device Manager by pressing Windows key + X and select Device Manager from the list. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
   
2. In the list of hardware categories, find and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
   
3. Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click ‘Uninstall’ to remove them one at a time.
   
4. Restart the computer, and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.
   

Plug in the removable USB device, and then check to make sure that the issue is resolved.
