Windows 10: Find Windows Retail Key

Hello!

A few years ago I bought a Retail Key, and the person working at the store told me that if I ever needed to format my PC it would be alright because Windows 10 keys are stored on the motherboard, so I wouldn't have to worry about that.

A few years later, here I am, older and less naive, and just found that the seller knew less than me, and that only OEM keys are stored on the motherboard.

Is there a way to check my key in case I need to reinstall Windows?

Already tried the Command Prompt, but it doesn't show up

If you upgraded from a retail box copy Windows 7, it has retail transfer rights.

Use the following to see if you can find the original Windows 7 key. If you can't find the original Windows 7 key, you won't be able to transfer it.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
