Windows 10: Finding orignal product key, and disabling s mode

My friend brought me their child's computer, they said that they let the child use it for school. Now the laptop is in S mode and not activated, I have tried to activate windows. but it fails the laptop is only 1 month old and still has 11 months of the warranty left. I ran a windows update but that still has not Activated windows, I have tried resetting the computer but that also didn't activate windows. I'm out of ideas can anyone help.

With the key being in the firmware you shouldn't even be asked to give a product key.

Though I'm not sure if you'll be able to clean install S Mode with the standard install media from MS. I don't have any S Mode machines to test that on.

You can also try extracting the Windows product key using the WMIC command on command prompt. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Press Windows +
   S key together to open Search.
   
2. Now type CMD and select Run as administrator.
   
3. Accept the UAC prompts.
   
4. Type in the following command and hit enter:
   wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

How to disable Airplane mode permanently on Windows 10?

As you are facing issues with turning on or off Airplane on your device, do not worry we will help you with this issue.

Do let us know if you have made any changes to the operating system prior to this issue?

The option you are looking for to permanently disable Airplane mode is unfortunately not available.

Let us try few of the below troubleshooting steps to disable Airplane mode and check if it helps.

Step 1: To turn off Airplane mode from Settings and check.

• Press Windows key, click on Settings
  from the left pane.
• Click on Network & Internet.
• Under Airplane mode turn it off and check.

Step 2: To Turn On or Off Airplane Mode in Network Notification Area Icon

• 
  Click on the Network icon in the taskbar notification area.
  
• 
  Click on the Airplane mode button to toggle on or off.
  

Step 3: To Turn On or Off Airplane Mode in Action Center

• 
  Open Action Center by clicking Windows + A keys from keyboard.

If the settings are not refining, this issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files.

Step 4: I suggest you to run SFC scan and check if it helps.

• Right click on the Start button, click on

  Enter.
• After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.
