    Finding the admin password as a guest


    I purchased an MSI computer a while ago, but I was not the one who set up the accounts as my parents added themselves as an admin and myself as a guest. Now I am out of the house and have been trying to download some applications but the user control panel keeps asking me if I want to "make changes to this device" and prompts me for the admin password to continue, but I don't know it and my parents won't tell me.If I can only log in on the "guest" account, is there a way for me to find the password for the admin account, whether through command prompts or third party software, or is there just

    You can reset the Admin Password using Windows XP repair; See Here for step by step.

    Hi Voytek,

    To remove the guest account from your start screen, we suggest that you try the following steps:

    • Right-click Start menu, then select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Enable guest account first by typing net user guest /active:yes, then press
      Enter.
    • Disable guest account by typing net user guest /active:no, then press
      Enter.
    • Perform a
      clean boot in Windows.
