    Finding the correct Bitlocker-key


    I want to install an unsigned driver. Therefore, I followed all the steps to do an advanced reboot of the system, and just before rebooting it asks me for a Bitlocker recovery key. A bit of research showed me that I can find that on my Windows account, and indeed for this laptop it says that the Bitlocker is enabled. However, when I click on the link that says show recovery key, it only gives me a wrong recovery key the device has a different name and the key does not have the same ID.

    How/where can I find the correct recovery key?

    where to find bitlocker key?

    The BitLocker key is in one of the three places that the program suggested to you:

    • In a folder of your choice.
    • Jotted down on a piece of paper.
    • In your Microsoft account (if you have one).
    Which one did you select at the time of encryption?

    Did you create a backup of your data?
