Windows 10: Fingerprint Hello stopped working after KB5016629

Hi, the fingerprint scanner on my Asus was working perfectly until I updated to KB5016629 10 minutes ago. Even if I go to setup a new finger, I'm met with a "Sorry something went wrong. Close Windows Hello and try going through setup again" error. Kindly help.

This is still not working after doing all those steps, please help after the Windows update it stopped working and it says the following : we couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with windows hello fingerprint.

After taking all the steps you suggested on here it says i have the latest update.

Windows Hello Fingerprint Setup not working

As per the description, I understand that the fingerprint feature does not work on Window10. We will assist you to resolve the issue.

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the finger print driver and check if that helps to resolve the issue.

Please follow the below steps.

• 
  Delete the fingerprints you already registered.
  
• 
  Press Windows Key + R Key.
  
• 
  Then type “devmgmt.msc” and press
  Enter.
  
• 
  Uninstall the current driver
  the current diver under "Biometric devices".
  
• 
  You maybe have to click the "discover new hardware" symbol in the device manager.
