Windows 10: Fingerprint recognition - any idea why it is no longer available?

Hello Microsoft, I have been using fingerprint recognition to boot up my laptop for years now. It has inexplicably stopped working and the sign-in option no longer appears to be available. Any idea why, and how I can fix it please?

So when I was unable to unlock my device with my fingerprint, I unlocked it with a PIN, then I updated the device and tried to unlock it, but that did not work, so I completely deleted my fingerprint, and now I want to use my fingerprint, but it appears that this option is not available.

fingerprint recognition

Finger print recognition seems to disappear from my windows 10 computer. I usually go for a few days before I shut down the computer or reboot. But lately, when I go to sign in after being away from my computer, after a couple of days, the computer will
not recognize my finger print (or even acknowledge that I tried to sign in that way), and when I click on sign in options, using a fingerprint is not even listed. Usually, when I reboot my computer, it comes back.

any ideas of what is happening?

Can I have fingerprint recognition and facial recognition simultaneously active as sign-in options?

I used to have fingerprint recognition on my laptop setup as a sign-in option. I then setup facial recognition as well. Now I can't sign-in using the fingerprint sensor. Is it possible to have both active? Sometimes one is more convenient than the other.

I tried to go to settings to turn fingerprint recognition on and it's listed as currently unavailable.

I'm using a Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 2.
