    Firefox Quantum Question

I've been trying out the new Firefox browser (version 58), and so far, like it. My question is: when running the browser in private window mode, is that the same security as using a VPN? The reason I ask is because my current VPN service expires in a couple of months, and may not be necessary to renew if I don't need it. Thanks for your assistance.

    :)

    Firefox replaced by Firefox Quantum

The other day, I turned on my computer, and Firefox was changed and so was the icon. This is a virus, called 'Quantum'.

My computer is messed up. I can't seem to uninstall this 'Quantum' Firefox, and when I try to install the real Firefox, my computer doesn't seem to recognise the exe file extensions. Also, if I connect anything to my computer to backup my data, it locks my
file to read only on whatever device I connect. It had a padlock icon next to it.

It is close but not the same, a VPN is more secure.

Thanks, Josey. I kinda suspected that. I'll just continue using my Tunnel Bear VPN, which I'm quite happy with.
