    Firewall not enabling


    Yesterday suddenly I got a pop-up saying that my firewall was disabled so I went to check it out, going there led me to the control panel where it said that settings are not what microsoft recommends, so I clicked on the button to change but I got the error saying that it cant change those settings. I did some research and it was related to the BFE, my VPN, MS store and other very important programs & games weren't functioning completely. I surfed the web for some solutions but to no avail. I tried all methods like re-registing the dll, checking the regedit and services menu, creating a wh

    Cannot keep Network Discovery Enabled.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the response.

    I would suggest that you change the settings in the Firewall to allow Network discovery so that the Firewall stays On while allowing the Network discovery to be enabled.

    Follow the steps.

    a . Open Control panel.

    b. Small icons from the drop down.

    c. Click on Windows Firewall.

    d. Click on Allow programs or feature through Firewall.

    e. Scroll the list and check Network Discovery.

    Good Antivirus + Firewall

    I would never put anything Norton on my computer.

    Nod32 is arguably the best antivirus. AVG is likely not as good, but it's free and at least pretty good.

    Firewalls, I'd put Comodo and whatever "Tiny Personal Firewall" is named nowadays on your short list. I think Kerio might have sold it now and it's named something else. Otherwise, just put Comodo on your short list. I think the current version's ease of use has taken a step backwards, seems a bit counter-intuitive when trying to do certain things with it, but overall it does a good job and the price is right.

    Enabling windows firewall in windows 10

    Hi,

    What happens when you try to enable Windows Firewall? Does the edition of Avast have firewall feature in it? If a 3rd party firewall exists in the system, Windows Firewall is disabled.

    Right-click Start, click Control Panel

    Click Security and Maintenance

    Click "Security" to expand it.

    What's listed there for Network firewall?
