  1. Firewall rules to make smb safer and still usable?

Hi everyone, my scenario is a Windows11-machine with two ethernet ports no wifi: one 2.5GbE port connected to the router/internet and a second 10GbE port connected directly to a Mac that is connected in turn to a couple of thunderbolt2 HFS+ RAIDs Mac "can" access to internet via wifi. I'm using smb protocol on both Windows11-machine and Mac in order to make Windows11-machine able to copy files from/to the two HFS+ RAIDs.All works fine, but unfortunately I read that smb protocol is or can be vulnerable to malware and attacks from the internet.Hence, two questions: 1. Which are the Windows

  2. Windows 10 upgrade doesn't keep firewall inbound rules settings

    Hi All,

I just migrated Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 through SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 TS then firewall inbound rules were not ok.

The three WMI rules are disabled; rules for ping response and SMB access for domain profile are disabled, they are enabled for private profile instead.

    Which suggestion in this regard?

I suggest you to restart the Windows firewall service and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps for the same.

    • Press Windows key + R simultaneously for Run.
    • Type services.msc and then Enter.
    • Right click on the Windows firewall services and then restart the services and check if it helps.
If the issue still persists then I suggest you to remove and then read the Windows fire wall rule.

Windows Firewall: Doesn't show blocking rules

    Hello!

Today I've blocked all connections of a program by creating a outbound rule in Windows Firewall. However, I now wish to remove it. The problem: I can't find that newly created rule anywhere in the list. The rule does take an effect, since deactivating the
Firewall lets the program run properly. I can only see rules in the list that "allow" stuff, but not those who block things.

What I have tried so far:

    - All filters set to "Show all" within the Firewall

    - Created the same rule again, doesn't show up

    - Created a rule that allows the program, shows up

    Any solutions?
