Windows 10: Firmware Upgrading of Kinect 2.

Hi, all:As of year 2024, anybody still maintain Kinect2? I'm trying that Kinect Configuration Verifier, but failed to update, probably because of the USB Controller. I'm using a very old Kinect2, and Kinect Studio is able to correctly grab the depth image from the sensor. However, I want to know:1 What tis the MOST up-to-date firmware for Kinect2?2 And how to solve the following error message, so that even Kinect2 is using the newest firmware, I can still proceed the Configuration Verifier?What's more, I'm using aThinkpad T580Windows 11 Pro, Version 22H2Can anybody help please? Thank you ...

Hi Ruja,

To answer your query, Kinect for Windows is only programmed to work on Windows computers. Xbox consoles like Xbox One and Xbox 360 can use Xbox Kinect specifically programmed for each of them.

Upgrade Firmware

I was going through the troubleshooting steps and one of the step is suggesting to do a firmware upgrade. How can I achieve it? My system model is hp 2 in 1 and it's around 3 months old.

We understand that you are trying to play using Xbox 360 Kinect and is unable to because the Kinect is somehow not detected by your PC. Let us check on this together so you will get back to gaming.

You may try to isolate the issue by performing basic troubleshooting that we have below.

Suggested troubleshooting:

1. Try to connect your Kinect on Xbox 360 Console and check if it working fine. (Kindly install update if prompted.)
   
2. Keep your Windows PC and Xbox apps and Kinect updated.
   
3. Restart device.
   
4. Turn off or disable all antivirus, antimalware, VPN, firewall and PC Optimizer.
