    I have a windows 10 x64 from an upgrade from Windows 7. I am also in a domain.My windows password starts with a capital. Whenever I log in from the screensaver 3d text it does not accept the capital, but puts a lower case in the spot. I have checked it with the 'eye' on the password entering field. Always lower case on the first entry. If I hit backspace a few times before entering the capital, it works, as done on the second try because the first failed. Most annoying. This is the only time it happens.I really do not want to reinstall. This is a working machine and I cannot afford to

    I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

    • Go to the folder C:\Windows\System32 and sort by file type.
    • Look for the screensaver file type (.scr).
    • Find the file scrnsave.scr(you can choose any of the screensavers).
    • Right click and select send to>desktop (create shortcut). The shortcut on my attachment, but when i click on it my screen goes off and on and nothing else.First character in password is always lower case when coming out of screensaver. :)

    Have you tried pressing F5 to refresh explorer's display after renaming the file?

    If you are on a non-NTFS volume (e.g. flash drive), try a two-step rename. For example, change to all caps and add a character. Then rename again and remove the added character.
