Windows 10: First picture opens when I open other pictures

I have windows 11 on my laptop. When I want to open several pictures / photos consecutively, the first picture I opened pops up behind all the consecutive pictures I open afterwards. And it's getting on my nerves. It wasn't always like this. Any thoughts of how to disable it?Thanks in advance.

Pictures in Pictures folder will not open

Thanks for the suggestions but I have already done everything listed. Nothing is giving me back access to my pictures. I can enter the files but the pictures will not open.

I understand that you are getting error when trying to open Pictures on your computer. I'll certainly assist you with the issue.



However, please let us know:

• May I know the default application that is set to open pictures?
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer?

It could be possible that the application set to open pictures is not working properly. If Photos app is set as the default application to open
pictures, I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned in the article

Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.

Pictures won't open


Have you tried the suggestion as offered in post #2 too?
What is the result?

If still unsuccessful, I would say that a clean reinstall of windows will be the best way to get rid of this issue.
