  3. Microsoft Edge Won't Open Attachments - Only Prompts You To Save/Save As

Edge is 3 months short of being 2 whole years old (since its first public release) and yet its UI remains terrible. No wonder it was codenamed Spartan, because its interface is so spartan that it can't even open a file from a temp save location and instead
files need to be explicitly saved first. Doesn't even seem to support long-standing UI conventions such as keyboard shortcuts for menu items. Pathetic.

Just dump it and switch to a better browser.

By the looks of the black header it's probably going to run as a container app as well.

Just a guess, but I'd say browse the web? Maybe it will have an anti-sarcasm plugin, a person could install.

And following on Edwin's post regarding app container,
I suspect this will probably only function on Windows 10 and forward (maybe 8/8.1)

I am a little *Confused . Is Microsoft making a separate browser or is Spartan going to be integrated into the operating system? For example, if a application use I.E. controls, will the application be using Spartan controls instead? I know a lot of 3rd party software depends on Internet Explorer being installed. Including virus protection programs.

well according to Mary Jo Foley and Paul Thurrott on windows weekly IE still going to be there too IE11 will be there and will be supported for some time for websites that are designed to make use of it. Spartan is the new direction that MS is going with their browser for the future.
