Thanks for replying:

1) in order to retrieve the information requested, I have to boot in Safe Mode. When in "Update and Security" window, the system does not display anything. I click on "Windows Update" and nothing happens,dots just scroll across screen, but if I click on
other option like "Windows defender" it displays information. I used winver to retrieve the information: current version 1709 (OS build 16299.19) windows 10 home.

2) The error is that the computer locks-up when booting up, I get the login window and it freezes. I reboot. I'm able to enter my login Id and Password and it freezes. I'm able to boot in Safe Mode, it asks for user id and password and I'm able to get in.

3)I used the Recovery method to roll back, this did not fix the problem. I researched and saw in the Event View - System log the following critical events:

DCOM got error 1084 attempting to start the service ShellHWDetection with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server:

{DD522ACC-F821-461A-A407-50B198B896DC}

DCOM got error 1084 attempting to start the service TokenBroker.....

the log repeats the same entries.

buenas tardes.

este error se esta produciendo hace 1 semana hasta unos 2 días atrás que sencillamente no encendió mas. decidí formatear el disco C, pero esto no lo soluciono. este error no ocasiono mensaje de error, si no que la pantalla se iba a algo como unas franjas
verticales de colores (no se si me explico bien la verdad), para probar decidí probar con otra VGA (antes
R9 270x, ahora Radeon HD 6850) y este error dejo de aparecer.
