Windows 10: Fix for "Microsoft wireless mouse not letting my computer go to sleep" issue

I was having the same issue as many people seem to, where a Microsoft Wireless mouse just refuses to allow a computer to go to sleep mode, even after disabling the "allow this device to wake the computer from sleep" function.After some fiddling, I finally figured out the solution, and realized it was extremely similar to what was suggested in this post about specifically the Microsoft Sculpt Mouse:Vlad and myself couldn't solve the issue, and the reason is, the toggle for the power-saving mode of the mouse isn't in "mice and other pointing devices", it's for some reason categorized as a gene

Not working wireless mouse could be due to the following:

• Outdated device driver
• No device driver installed
• Faulty wireless mouse receiver

We would like to know some information to better isolate the issue:

• Have you done any changes (like updating your Windows) on your computer prior to the issue?
  
• Have you tried using using your wireless mouse on other computer and checked if the issue persists?
• Have you tried updating your wireless mouse driver?

For initial troubleshooting steps, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how to run Windows troubleshooter:

• Type troubleshoot in the search box and press Enter.
• Select Hardware and Devices, then click
  Run the troubleshooter.

Microsoft 3500 Wireless Mouse: No Device Detected

Hi Pard,

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue. Follow the Methods below and check.

Run the Hardware and Devices
troubleshooter and check.

Hardware and Devices troubleshooter checks for common problems and makes sure that any new device or hardware connected to your PC is installed correctly.

• Click on the Start button, and type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.
• Click on troubleshooting, then click on “Hardware and Devices”.
• A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.

Issue with the application and computer going to sleep mode

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

• What is the make and model of the computer?
  
• Was there any major changes made prior to this issue?
  
• Does the computer go to sleep when trying to access any other applications?
  
  
  
  For the issues with Windows maximizing automatically, try these steps and let us know if it helps:
  

1. Open Ease of Access.
   
2. Click on make the mouse easier to use.
   
3. Under “Make it easier to manager Windows”, uncheck the first option “Activate the window by hovering over it with the mouse”.
   
4. Click on Apply and OK.
   

For issue related to computer going to sleep, try this step and let us know if it helps:

- Run the Power troubleshooter.

Open Settings and navigate to Update and Security>> Troubleshoot and run the Power Troubleshooter.
