    Fix PC shutting down instead of going to sleep.


    Windows 11 24H2. My PC shuts down instead of going to sleep.The only time it goes to sleep is if I change the setting "turn on fast startup". For 1 single time it will go to sleep then. But next time it shuts down again. The issue happens when I check or uncheck the box. I tried so many other things and nothing helped. There was a code I used in cmd, to show if any program is preventing sleep mode but all of them said no. How can I find out what is preventing sleep? My mobo has the latest drivers. Asus Strix X870-I gaming wifi.

    The reason why your Dell notebook shuts down instead of it going to sleep is because of the settings on your system. Kindly check this

    Laptop shuts down instead of sleeping

    Hello

    My laptop keeps shutting down when I want it to sleep. Closing the lid, pressing the power button (both are set to make it go to sleep) and clicking on the sleep button from the start menu all make it shut down and I only notice that it has shut down when I fire it back up and see that everything is closed. I've tried this but it doesn't do anything and it resets the value back to 20.

    Your suggestions would be highly appreciated!
