No Internet Connection When VPN Is Connected

This particular issue has been going on for almost a month now. My companies IT department is still trying to figure out the root cause. Below is a list of isolation / troubleshooting i've done.

Issue: Once connected to the work VPN (successfully) the internet connection on the Windows 10 machine disconnects and does not allow any network traffic.

OS: Windows 10 Home - Version: 1909 (OS Build 18363.476)

    Computer: Razor Blade 2019

    - Latest drivers installed

    - Latest Windows updates installed

    - System Wide issue

    Troubleshooting / Isolation

    • Cellular Data: Verified the Windows machine can connect to a hotspot and successfully browse the internet. (No VPN involved)

    • Cellular Data + Work VPN: Verified the Windows machine can connect to the hotspot & successfully connect to work VPN and successfully browse the internet.

    • Home WiFi: Verified Windows machine can connect to the home wifi network and successfully browse the internet (No VPN involved)

    • Home WiFi + Work VPN: Verified Windows machine can connect to home WiFi. It can successfully connect to work VPN. However once the work VPN is connected, the home WiFi network indicates (No Internet Access)

    • Ping Test + Work VPN: Verified I can successfully ping (work) websites and even the work VPN URL successfully without any packet loss. However once I go to ping (non-work) related addresses like google.com, apple.com etc. there is packet loss.

At this point I decided to test my work VPN on my iPhone & Apple Mac.

    • iPhone: Home WiFi + Work VPN: Verified the iPhone successfully connects to home WiFi network and the work VPN and can successfully browse the internet.

    • Mac: Home WiFi + Work VPN: Verified the Mac successfully connects to home WiFi network and the work VPN and can successfully browse the internet.

Isolated: Only the Windows machine seems to be affected. I even verified this issue occurs on multiple Windows user accounts on the Windows 10 machine.

    - Windows 10 is fully updated to the latest November Windows 10 update and issue persists

    - Deleted and Added the VPN configuration several times and issue persisted.

Third Party VPN Client Test: Tested with Nord VPN and the Windows machine successfully connected to the home WiFi network & the Nord VPN connection successfully connected to a random server and successfully browsed the internet.

    - Disabled IPV6 on VPN & WiFi network configuration (Per IT Support guidance) and issue persisted

*Currently updating to Windows 10 Insider Preview 19033.1 (vb_release) to see if this might fix anything pertaining to Windows 10 VPN.

Thanks for any additional guidance / suggestions / help that the community offers.

  3. VPN connections

    Hello CharlesRobbins1

    yes it's possible

    Please follow these steps

    1.Create a VPN profile

If you don't have a VPN profile on your Windows 10 PC, you'll need to create one. Before you start:

If it’s for work, look for VPN settings or a VPN app on your company’s intranet site while you’re at work, or contact your company's support person.

If it’s for a VPN service you subscribe to for personal use, visit the Microsoft Store to see if there’s an app for that service, then go to the VPN service’s website to see if the VPN connection settings to use are listed there.

Select the Start button, then select Settings > Network & Internet > VPN > Add a VPN connection.

In Add a VPN connection, do the following:

For VPN provider, choose Windows (built-in). In the Connection name box, type a friendly name (for example, My Personal VPN) for the VPN connection profile. This is the VPN connection name to look for when you try to connect In the Server name or address box.
Type the address for the VPN server.

For VPN type, choose the type of VPN connection you want to create. You’ll need to know which kind of VPN connection your company or VPN service uses.

For Type of sign-in info, choose the type of sign-in info (or credentials) to use. This might be a user name and password, one-time password, certificate, or a smart card if you’re connecting to a VPN for work. Type your user name and password in the respective
    boxes (optional).

    Select Save.

If you need to edit the VPN connection info or specify additional settings, such as the proxy settings to use for the VPN connection, choose the VPN connection and then select Advanced options.

    2. Connect to a VPN

When you have a VPN profile, you’re ready to connect.

On the far right of the taskbar, select the Network icon (either or ).

Select the VPN connection you want to use, then do either of the following depending on what happens when you select the VPN connection:

If the Connect button displays under the VPN connection, select Connect.

If VPN in Settings opens, select the VPN connection there, then select Connect.

If you're prompted, type your user name and password or other sign-in info.

When connected, the VPN connection name will display Connected underneath it.

To see if you’re connected to the VPN while you’re doing things on your PC, select the Network icon (either or ) on the far right of the taskbar, then see if the VPN connection says Connected underneath it.

Fix VPN Connection, Can’t connect to VPN connection error on Windows 11/10

    does not connect to vpn

Please Help solve the problem with vpn (L2TP).
Problem: I set up the connection, click on the connection and hangs the connection sign, and then writes that there may be an error in NAT.
To solve this problem, Microsoft has a solution - https://support.microsoft.com/ru-ru/...ehind-a-nat-t- device-in-windows.
Previously, it helped me, but after another reinstallation of the system it did not help.
I thought maybe the provider blocked the network vpn (hello Russia), but I calmly connect from other devices.
    I use Windows 10 Pro 1803
