Let's go over Windows and hardware thoroughly to find and fix the crash. If any steps cannot be performed normally then try them in Safe Mode with Networking or Safe Mode: https://www.digitalcitizen.life/4-ways-boot-safe-mode-windows-10 1 To troubleshoot a blue screen crash, download, install and run BluescreenView from NirSoft here: https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=tr&u=https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html Report back the reported cause for further steps to fix it. If no crash files or results, examine the Event Viewer for Errors as explained her

    all games crash!

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

  3. Fix Windows 10 Crashing (2023)

Let's go over Windows and hardware thoroughly to find and fix the problem.

If any steps cannot be performed normally then try them in 1) Safe Mode with Networking (so you have internet) or 2) Safe Mode, accessed by one of the illustrated steps in this guide: https://www.digitalcitizen.life/4-ways-boot-safe-mode-windows-10.

From Safe Mode update your drivers and try these troubleshooting steps from Safe Mode along with the other numbered steps I give:

How to Use Safe Mode to Diagnose a Problem in Windows 10 or Windows 11

    https://www.howtogeek.com/164876/how-to-use-safe-mode-to-fix-your-windows-pc-and-when-you-should/

You will need to use your password to get into Safe Mode as a PIN is not accepted.

If Safe Mode won't run or is not stable enough do repairs from the WinRE Repair Mode or bootable media given here as well as the other numbered steps I give below: Redirecting

    1) To troubleshoot a blue screen crash, download, install and run BluescreenView from NirSoft here: Blue screen of death (STOP error) information in dump files. Report back the reported cause for further steps to fix it.

Then work through this Crashes checklist from Microsoft: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/14238/windows-10-troubleshoot-blue-screen-errors

If no crash files or results, examine the Event Viewer for Errors as explained here: https://www.howtogeek.com/school/using-windows-admin-tools-like-a-pro/lesson3/

    2) Update your drivers from the PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is how to keep the latest manufacturer's drivers current. Windows drivers are rarely enough.

    3) Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...ntegrity/75529fd4-fac7-4653-893a-dd8cd4b4db00

Start with Step 4 to turn off Startup freeloaders which can conflict and cause issues, then Step 7 to check for infection the most thorough way, then step 10 to check for damaged System Files. Then continue with the other steps to go over your install most thoroughly.

    4) If nothing else helps you can run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows in about an hour while saving your files, apps and most settings, solves many problems while also bringing it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/media-creation-tool-install

    5) Test the RAM overnight to stress it with the best bootable test memtest86, following this guide to test both sticks and slots: https://www.wikihow.com/Test-PC-RAM-with-MemTest86

Run Crucial System Scanner to check the RAM is properly spec'd and configured, what upgrade options exist for first quality RAM: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner?cm_re=us-footer-_-us-upgrade-_-us-upgrade-scanner

    6) Test the hard drive or SSD with diagnostics: https://www.lifewire.com/free-hard-drive-testing-programs-2626183 https://mashtips.com/ssd-health-test-and-performance-monitor-tools/

Best is to use the HDD/SSD manufacturer's own if there is one, otherwise use Seatools bootable long test: http://blog.nowherelan.com/2013/04/04/boot-seatools-off-of-a-usb-drive/

Follow this up with a full Disk Check from the Command Prompt in Repair Mode or from bootable media: https://www.groovypost.com/howto/check-hard-drive-fix-failures-windows-10/ if necessary from the Command Prompt at boot: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2294-advanced-startup-options-boot-windows-10-a.html

    7) Stress test the rest of your hardware: https://techguided.com/best-tools-to-stress-test-p-cpu-ram-gpu/

    8) But remember that in Windows 10 everything depends upon the quality of the install, and Factory or Upgrade installs are inferior installs which most enthusiasts won't even run because they'd expect endless issues. Consider now or later doing the Clean Install in this link which compiles the best possible install that will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...tory-oem/1c426bdf-79b1-4d42-be93-17378d93e587

It is also one of life's great learning experiences that will permanently make you the master of your PC because you will learn everything that works best and how to keep it that way.
