Error 0x80240020 Windows 10

So this morning I woke up, hoping to see the Get Windows App sending me a notification telling me that my free copy of Windows 10 was ready. But when I woke up the Get Windows App looked just like how it looked before Windows 10 came out. So tonight I found
out how to force start Windows 10 to start installing and it took a couple tries, but I managed to make it to the part where it completes looking for updates. It displayed error code 0x80240020. I tried and tried again, deleting all my files in the Downloads
folder, which was recommended by many people, but it turns out it didnt work for me. Anyone have a more in-depth reason or fix to this bug?

I hope Microsoft releases a optional update that fixes the most common Windows 10 upgrading bugs. Please Microsoft, Please do this.

Also, you guys, please help me.

Yeah, I've been noting it for months on the refusenik thread. They do NOT want anything older than 10 running.

I still have an HTPC on W7, and every other month I have to fix the update agent in order to get all updates. SMH....

You provided a good step by step fix. I've bookmarked it for future reference.
