Windows 10: Fix Windows Update error 0x80080005 on Windows 10, how can we fix this?

Fix Windows Update error 0x80080005 on Windows 10, when I try to update windows. I tried resetting the software distribution folder, but it said there was no file with the name. Also tried windows troubleshooter a few times.

suggests the error number may occur where one of the OTHER drives has a problem.

Your specs don't say whether you have other drives installed.

Anyway, worth using Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) - the best text summary of such programs I've seen- to check your disks. Failing that check SMART params and do a surface scan with something else.
