Windows 10: FIXED: Can't Save to Desktop ... W10-1909

Controlled Folder Access = OFF is a common posted Fix but I use ESET EIS and am told Defender must be in use to have CFA = ON.


My rarely-used, test-only Bkup Admin Acct COULD save to Desktop but I don't know the implications of the Fix for just the exclusively-used Me Admin Acct. It was as follows:


My PC\Desktop\Rt Clk\Properties\Security Tab ..... the MODIFY box of the -- Everyone Group -- was UN-chk'd and when I chk'd it, Re-started to be sure, I Saved a Word .docx to the Desktop, and presume Downloads will follow now.WHAT the Everyone Group is explanations still leave me lost per my expertise, but as a last resort I hope this helps someone later.

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

How to save PDF files to desktop with W10

I often get PDF files in emails. I want to save some of them to my desktop to use later. I cannot find the "save as" button in my W10 edge program. How can I save these files to the desktop??
