Windows 10: Fixed Windows 10 Task-bar Fully Transparent - 1909

So until now there hasn't been a registry key discovered that fixes this glitch... I just started using TranslucentTB... However the other day I noticed when I was doing a fresh install off the latest image of Windows 10 -1909 on my friends PC, he had a transparent task bar. However multiple machines, my own, work machines, my laptop, my wife's laptop all had transparency enabled in the personalize settings in windows. Even with this setting enabled the task bar was still a solid color. So I used regspot to see what keys are being changed during the process of enabling and disabling of this setting. To my surprise it was the exact same settings for all machines.


The fresh Windows install was making the task bar transparent like Windows 10 was at launch and all other version 1903, 1803 and prior had zero effect. At the same time the exact same registry keys are being altered. I came across a recent post for the bottom two keys. One we all already know, the UseOLED.. That hasnt worked for some time now. However a new key has been discovered and DOES in fact work. After testing on a couple machines I can say this only works if you have been using Windows during 1703, 1709, 1803, 1809, and 1903 and or recently upgraded to 1909.. If you have just installed a fresh copy of 1909 from Windows media creation tool I'm 99% sure you wont need this fix as it should be working.


For what ever reason the keys below don't exist on a fresh 1909 install but all prior version experiencing the issue this will fix it... Finally no more Translucent TB...


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced create dword32 UseOLEDTaskbarTransparency = 1


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm create dword32 ForceEffectMode = 1

Reboot

Windows 10 Defender - How to make it default to task bar?

Using Windows 10 and currently I am using Defender for anti virus. For whatever reason Windows Defender does not show up in the task bar unless I search for the program or right click and scan a file/folder. Is there a way to force Defender to show up in the task bar at start up?

Thank you. I appreciate your answer. I think that was a big mistake to take the transparent task bar out in Windows 10. If I had known that I would not have upgraded. I see nothing better about windows 10 than what windows 7 was. I hope microsoft
decides to put out a fix so the task bar can become transparent again!

 

Make Task Bar Search Bar Transparent

Hi thanks for replying, now I fully understand your concern, moreover we have options to make the Search bar transparent, let's do the following troubleshooting steps that will resolved the issue.

Step 1.

Open Registry editor ( Press Windows key + R then type in regedit and hit OK)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search\Flighting\0\SearchBoxTransparencyBackground

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search\Flighting\1\SearchBoxTransparencyBackground

Create new DWORD32 name it as

SearchBoxTransparencyBackground

And set the value of transparency

60 for Semi transparent or 0 for transparent

Note: Do it on 2 registry path that I provided.

Restart the PC and check, moreover if the issue persist you may follow the steps provided here:
