    Fixing capture settings and game bar, doesnt meet hardware requirements


    I tried to set my capture location to the new SSD I got, and after that I couldnt save game clips. I looked at my settings and it said my system didnt meet hardware requirements. After this, I made sure my drivers were updated, they were, and I restored the capture location to the default location. The location changed back with no issues and my drivers are still current but I still have the "doesn't meet hardware requirements" error.

    Hi Nicholas, thanks for your question. I'm Graeme, a fellow user in the Microsoft community.

    It sounds like your graphics card may not be compatible with the recording functionality of Game Bar. Do you know what model your graphics card is?

    Here's a page that lists the system requirements of Game Bar's DVR function:

    If your PC doesn't meet those requirements, you won't be able to use Game Bar to record.

    Game DVR problem: "Sorry, this PC doesn’t meet the hardware requirements for captures."

    Hi

    after the recent update 1809 for windows 10 I cannot capture videos using
    game DVR     anymore. even tho my drivers are all updated and I did not have this problem with the previous version of windows. my laptop
    meets all the requirements to run game DVR.

    yet it says

    "Sorry, this PC doesn’t meet the hardware requirements for captures."

    For more information on how to resolve issues with the Game bar on Windows 10, kindly visit this

    In order to take advantage of the Game DVR feature, you need to make sure that your device meets the hardware requirements. See

    Hardware requirements for Game DVR on Windows 10     for more information.

    We also recommend verifying the Game DVR settings. Here are the steps:

    • Launch the Xbox app.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Game DVR. Make sure that Record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR is set to
      On.
    Note: You also need to make sure that the game isn't set to full-screen mode only when using the Game DVR.
