Windows 10: Fixing D: stage 1

I was using my computer one day and at first, the computer was suprisingly lagging and then the blue error and restart page popped up. After that was done, my computer shut off. I tried opening it and then the "fixing D: stage 1 appeared.


I kind of panicked and i immediately pressed down the power button until it was shut down.


I opened the laptop again and the" fixing D: stage 1 appeared again. I started to just wait until it finishes.


To be honest, I dont know if this was supposed to happen but this is the 2nd day that im waiting for it to finish.


Right now its at fixing D: 91% 44897 of 49152 stage 1 total 30% eta: 74:36:00


So i just want to know


1. How long will it take?

2. Will all my files still be there?

3. What do i have to expect when its done

4. What will i have to do?


I hope nothing goes wrong

Hi there,

I have acer nitro 5 with window 10. When I start on my laptop it shows Fixing(D Stage 2 : 100% ( 14702 of 14702); Total: 81%; ETA:. 1:33:40 This is happening from last two days when I do shut down by power button then try to restart then this happens
again, it was in stage 1 from last two days but when I restart it today it entera in stage 2 by processing whole day but now it stucks on this. When I restart it without disk checking then it does not show local disk D data. What should I do? Please suggest
some solution.

Hello everyone !!

Last day when I switched on my desktop it did not start and was showing that your PC needs to be repaired and error 0xc0000225. I had flash drive of windows installation media. So I used it to to repair the windows but it was not successful. So instead I
installed the windows in the drive D instead of drive C (where my windows was previously installed). After installation, when the PC was rebooting it showed Fixing (D Stage 1: 5% (26547 of 506368); Total 1% ETA: 21:40:55. I thought it will take some time
to finish the process. I left it overnight. In the morning, I saw the PC was off. I switched it on, luckily the windows started, but every data on drive C was not present. Also, windows was asking for a restart, so I restarted the PC but instead of restarting
the PC was again Fixing (D Stage 1: 5% (26547 of 506368); Total 1% ETA: 21:40:55.

Please help me what should I do ?

 

“Fixing (C Stage 1...” has been processing for days

I left my computer on several days ago and after walking away from it...

I returned to it on its startup screen with the following line across the bottom (the values are the most recent but started from—at least when I finally returned to my computer—when I found it at Stage 1: 51% and total 18%):

Fixing (C Stage 1: 53% (295928 of 556800); Total: 19%; ETA: 966:12:12

I have searched a bit for what to do but have basically found that what you need to do is just be patient and wait it out until it finishes.

So I have 3 questions:

1. How long should I expect for it to take? It’s already been almost a week and the total percentage only increased by one so far.
2. Is it ok to interrupt it by turning my computer off?— because there’s no sign of it finishing anytime soon and I need to use my computer.
3. What does the “ETA” part stand for? Is it estimated time to finish, elapsed time, or something else entirely?
