Windows 10: Flashing screen after update 1809 Windows 10

After update 1809 was installed on several of the Win 10 Pro computers at my school district, the user gets a flashing screen after logging into the AD server (Server 2012). The flashing renders the computers useless. I did a clean install of Win 10 Pro on one of the machines, and when logging in as a local user, the flashing screen issue does not appear; however, upon logging into the AD, the flashing happens every time. I have uninstalled the update on several of the computers in one of the labs so that the teacher could have class, but I need to know what the cause/solution is so that I can prevent this from happening.


BTW, I have been tech director at this district for 20 years, so I've tried all of the basic solutions.

I suggest you to Update your graphic card drivers and check if it helps:

You can update drivers from the Device Manager.

• • Right click on start button and click on Device manager.
    
  • Expand Display Drivers.
  • Right click on the driver and select Update driver.

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Screen flashes black for a second

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue.

Please answer these questions to assist you better.

• Have you installed all pending Windows updates?
• Do you get any error message?
• What is the make and model of your computer?

I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates and check as driver updates are also part of Windows updates.

Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.

Also uninstall and reinstall Display drivers from manufacturer website and check. Refer the steps below.

  Press “Windows + X” and select
  Device Manager.
  
• 
  Select Display Adapter and expand the driver icon.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver icon and click on
  Properties.
  
• 
  Go to Driver tab.
  
• 
  Select Uninstall and follow onscreen instructions.
