I believe the Intel tool is showing you the ME firmware version in the BIOS. The Device Manager is showing you the OS driver version. They can be very different. For instance, I am running 9.0.x firmware but 11.x version driver and I am not vulnerable. Don't go by the Windows ME driver version.

  3. Hi,
Yep detection tool never finished it's assessment so I just closed it
Best until Intel releases a fix because it quickly identified I was at risk
Now it's stuck trying to say not so much *Biggrin
    Try it again later *Wink

Cliff , that is the Window's DRIVER version, not the ME Firmware version embedded in the Bios which is why i suggested checking there...at least on ASUS UEFI boards it is on the System Info page

    or use AIDA64 *Smile

it's not the windows Driver that has the issue , it is the ME Firmware embedded in the Bios....

    @Geneo yep, you're 100% right*Wink
I downloaded the tool to check.

    But....
In Aida64 under Computer\DMI\Intel vPro it shows the correct version for mine:
    ME Firmware Version 11.6.1.1142

  7. I'm still vulnerable, all I can do is wait for a fix, tried to find motherboard info inside system, but didn't find sticker, System is Asus G11CD-K according to Crucial system scanner, and various tools, but that doesn't help much lol

may not be a sticker , just silk-screened on PCB sometimes between the PCIe slots

    ????
Why are you so interested in the board, you have an OEM "off the shelf" system,, just go here:

    G11CD BIOS & FIRMWARE| Tower PCs | ASUS USA

    Or have I misunderstood something(happens a lot*Redface)?

  11. Well was trying to find board info, so I could maybe find the Bios update or ME Update for the system, but I guess I have to wait til they post on the OEM Off the Shelf Support site whenever that is lol.

That's the only way to get a BIOS update for any pc, self built or OEM.
I need to wait still too for my current set up(MSI Z170A PC MATE with a 6700K).
My other pc(off the shelf Lenovo H530) also needs a BIOS update, but I don't know if they'll support that one.

Interesting is, I'm waiting on a new CPU(a binned delidded 8700K) I ordered, but I already have the MOBO(Z 370 Maximus X Hero) that I want to put in the PC with the MSI board, and ASUS has already issued the BIOS update for that one*chuckle
