Windows 10: flickering screen after windows 10 updates

Hi

I'm a HelpDesk support technician and I've seen this issue in at least 7 windows 10 desktops.

The problem is active windows going black intermittently and sometimes the screen flickering and blinking.

This issue started a about a month ago after windows updates was running. performing system restore to pre updates restore points resolves the problem but some of these workstations don't have earlier restore points. the only common factor between these desktops is they all have ASROCK brand motherboards with chipstets H110 or H310 ie: intel hd graphics 530,620,630.

I've tried several troubleshooting including: drivers and bios updates, system health checks with SFC and DISM, In Place Upgrade, uninstalling recent updates but nothing seems to help.

All desktops had either 1803 builds or 1809 latest build

I haven't made any changes on my device. This screen flickering is only happening in Safe Mode.

This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ incompatible/ outdated display drivers after the latest update, try the below and check if it helps.

• Do let us know when exactly you get the flickering screen on your device?
• Were you able to see any error code/ error message on flickering screen?
