    Flickering screen


    Hi all,

    I hope everyone's well and safe.

    I have an Acer laptop, about 2 years old, doesn't get used much, but my son has played a few online games and downloaded Roblox and Fortnite.

    Recently, the screen flickers when I access the internet and doesn't allow me to do anything.

    This happens only when i access the internet and if I'm not using the internet, i don't have this problem. The machine has a mind of its own, and its unpredictable as to when it will flicker. So sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.

    Please help and thanks in advance.

    Screen flickering in Windows 10 safe mode

    I haven't made any changes on my device. This screen flickering is only happening in Safe Mode.

    Screen flickering can be caused by hardware or application issue.

    To better assist you, please answer the following questions:

    • Is the issue only happening in Safe Mode?
    • Have you made any changes on your device prior to the issue?

    Screen flickering in safe mode help!

    Hi Yasmeentq,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your query. I suggest you to follow the steps to get out of safe mode.


    • Press Windows key + R

    • Type msconfig

    • In msconfig > Boot tab >
      Boot Options > uncheck Safe Boot > APPLY / OK.
