Windows 10: Flight Simulator

Just purchased and installed Flight Simulator. Program does not work. Starting the program slow loading, screen comes up showing airplane flying. Music plays in the background. Prompt asks "Press any key to begin". Press any key, no response. Monitor stays frozen on the first page. At one point, I did break through the first screen no idea how I did it and I was presented with a XBOX invitation from someone I did not know? The program was installed on a Windows 10 PC, not XBOX. Here are the specs:


Dell 5675 PC

Windows 10 X64

AMD Ryzen 7 1700 processor

16 Gig memory

AMD Radeon RX580 WITH 8GB memory


Program was installed to 1 TB E: drive, not C:


Program purchased Microsoft Flight Simulator Standard with digital ownership.


Looking for support on this software is difficult. Microsoft does not even show it as available under this support section.

Microsoft Flight Simulator issue after Windows 10 Upgrade

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.



I suggest you to completely uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator and check.

Refer the steps below to uninstall.

• Press “Windows key + X”, select Control panel.
• Open programs and features.
• In the list of installed programs, select Microsoft Flight Simulator, and then click
  Remove.

Note: If you have earlier versions of Flight Simulator in the list of installed programs, you will have to remove them in addition to Flight Simulator.



Reinstall the Flight Simulator.
