Windows 10: Floaty mouse since October 2022

I'm here to let everyone know the problem I've been dealing with since October 2022: I had just updated my graphic card drivers when I noticed that my Valorant gameplay wasn't smooth anymore, I didn't think it was an important problem so I kept playing for a few days. I decided to go back to my old graphic drivers, I tried to factory reset my PC but nothing helped, since October my gameplay isn't smooth with 400/500 fps in every part of the game and my mouse feels terribly floaty, I Can't be accurate anymore and my stats and personal satisfaction playing the game dropped a lot, so I tried to c

Mouse floaty after update/restart

Hello!

I´m having a wierd problem, my mouse is "floaty" after some update or something. When i rebooted Windows 10 yesterday a screen appeared with outlook/office login prompts (kinda like when a windows update completed), after that i just pressed cancel, and booted to windows. After that my mouse is floaty and to fast. Tried to change it but its not as snappy as before.

Restored Windows 10 with my backup (aeomei backupper) from december, but when i boot to windows, the same happens with the update window, then my mouse is floaty again.

I have the latest drivers and updates for my mouse (logitech mx master 2s), and the latest windows updates (19041.685), Windows 10 Home, 2004

Minor issue maybe, but very annoying, i want my snappy mouse cursor back *Wink

Anyone have simillar issues?

Hi, you could start by having a look at your Update History, inluding and driver updates at the bottom, and Device Manager for your mouse in particular, and try to identify the update responsible.

You can try rolling back a driver or uninstalling an update as is appopriate.

No idea what a 'floaty mouse' is, I'm afraid.

(Note: 'the latest windows updates' means very little and can be different from PC to PC. Actually the latest updates would be for build 20H2, which you don't have).

If you can identify the update responsible, it should be possible to 'hide' it (i.e. block it).

If you have System Restore enabled, you may also have an appropriate restore point which might be useful.

I have updated/rolled back the mouse drivers, but it makes no difference
I think that windows somehow changed the speed/response of the mouse, that is what i mean by "floaty".

I will try to hide/block some updates and see if it works.
Another solution i guess is to unplug the network and restore from my backup, then try to block it.
