  1. FlushDNS does NOT empty cache completely

I'm unable to display a laptop's directories/files in the explorer of my MAIN home computer running W10Pro. I can access the directory/files by inputting the laptop's ip and shared name. But I cannot access them by clicking on the laptop icon on windows explorer. Believing it's a DNS thing, I flushed the DNS cache. With the browser closed I quickly did a Get-DnsClientCache. This is what still remains in the cache. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> Get-DnsClientCache Entry

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond FlushDNS does NOT empty cache completely :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.

  3. Windows Store Cache Problems (Windows 10)

    Hi,

Corrupted Windows Store components are one of the possible reasons why this issue is happening. Let's try resetting Windows Store cache as the administrator. Follow the steps below:

    • Type wsreset.exe in the search box.
    • Right-click wsreset, then select Run as Administrator.
    • Complete the process, then open Windows Store to test.
If the issue still persists, we recommend following the suggested steps by
    SpiritX MS MVP
on this thread. Follow the steps 1 to 4 and see if it helps.

    lost points?

    Hi Susan,

It seems that the issue is with the Window Store app cache. We suggest that you clear Store cache by following these steps:

    • Right-click the Start button and choose Run.
    • In the Run window, type in wsreset.exe and click OK.

An empty command prompt window will open up.
    • When the reset is complete, this window will close and the Store window will open.

Let us know how it goes after performing the suggested troubleshooting steps.
