  3. Windows Hello Issues After Sleep on Asus Vivobook Pro 15 - Fingerprint and PIN Login Errors (Code: 0x80280013)

    Hello Microsoft community,

I'm reaching out for assistance with an ongoing Windows Hello issue that is affecting my Asus Vivobook Pro 15 (Model no. M6500QC) laptop running Windows 11 Home Single Language (Version 22H2). Despite my best efforts and several troubleshooting attempts, the issue persists.

Issue Description: Each time my Asus Vivobook Pro 15 enters sleep mode, I encounter login problems with both the fingerprint and PIN methods:

    1. Fingerprint Error: After waking the laptop from sleep, I attempt to use my fingerprint to log in, but I receive the error message: "Something went wrong with your fingerprint, please try again."
    2. PIN Error: Similarly, after the laptop emerges from sleep mode, my attempts to log in using my PIN result in the error message: "Something went wrong and your PIN isn't available (code: 0x80280013). Restart your device to see if that fixes the problem."
Troubleshooting Steps Taken: I've undertaken a series of troubleshooting actions, including:

    • Deleting the "ngc" folder.
    • Updating drivers and BIOS to the latest versions.
    • Switching from a Microsoft account to a local account.
    • Performing a system reset with both "keep files" and "remove everything" options.
    • Disabling Fast Startup in Power Options.
    • Changing the "Put the device to sleep to save power" setting in Device Manager.
    • Verifying the status of the Windows Biometric Service to ensure it's active.
    • Temporarily modifying the "NgcSvc" Start DWORD value in the Windows Registry to address the PIN issue.
Additionally, I've come across a particular driver/component in my troubleshooting efforts that might be relevant to this issue. I plan to attach an image of this driver/component for further clarity.

    Laptop Details:

    • Make and Model: Asus Vivobook Pro 15 (Model no. M6500QC)
    • Operating System: Windows 11 Home Single Language (Version 22H2)
    • OS Build: 22621.2215
    • Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22662.1000.0
I'm seeking the assistance of the community to identify a more comprehensive solution to this issue. If anyone has faced similar challenges or has insights into potential resolutions, I would be extremely grateful for your input. This issue is significantly disrupting my workflow, and I'm eager to find a lasting resolution.

If specific logs, diagnostics, or additional information are required for troubleshooting, please let me know, and I'll provide them promptly.

Thank you sincerely for your time and support.
